The strong side of the tracks

Partnering with 98Strong to create all-star visuals of student athletes

Starter’s orders

For brands and agencies wanting to connect with Gen Z, the world of college sport presents an opportunity to get upfield. Each of the 520,000+ student athletes in the US carries their own unique story and influence, capable of delivering meaningful ROI.

98Strong—experts in Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights—
wanted imagery for a national campaign that would spotlight this diverse community of college athletes.
Powering out of the blocks

To guarantee high-end visuals, we arranged for US Olympic Team photographer, Joe Scarnici, to capture six of the 98Strong student athletes.

Across a two-day shoot in LA, Joe produced a body of content that reflects the athletes’ strength, energy, and dynamism—executed with the attention-to-detail that sets the best imagery apart.
A head-turning performance

Joe’s images fed a nationwide out-of-home campaign across seven college campuses, generating over a million in-person impressions. They were seen by even more people online after appearing everywhere from TV commercials to the 98Strong social media channels.

This is a collaboration that proves the value of student-athlete content capable of shining at every scale.

“By pairing the influence of student athletes with the creative expertise of the Getty Images team, we’ve seen visual storytelling that hits hard.

This is hero imagery that manages to preserve the authenticity of the athletes themselves—audiences respond to that. We’re looking forward to collaborating again.”
